Traveler: Paris

I'm back in the USA and that means I'm back to blogging. I'll recount you all on a few of my last trips and of course, my time in London (so much to share) interspersed with traditional Collegiate Chic content! Can't wait to get back to the blogging grind.

There truly is no place like Paris. So, even while I had been there two times previously, I knew I wanted to return to the French capital during my time abroad. We hit the museums (missed the Orsay for the second time, however, bummer!): the Louvre, which I hadn't been to since I was 8, and the Musee de l'Orangerie, which has Monet's Lillies (and is featured in Midnight in Paris!), did a little shopping (finally got some printed silk pants!) and my favorite, took a tour of the Paris Opera House. As a huge Phantom of the Opera fan, this was like a dream come true for me.

The food in Paris is SO incredible. Crepes on the street, delectable meats (duck, chicken, yum), but my favorite was a stop at a hole in the wall fondue restaurant in Monmartre, Refuge des Fondus. They give you wine in baby bottles, and lots of bread and delicious melted cheese. Definitely one of my favorite meals from my abroad experience! Besides that, I had some Berthillon on the Ile de St. Louis, which has got to be some of the best ice cream I've ever had -- only rivaled by the gelato in Italy.

It was a wonderful weekend with a not so wonderful ending (getting my iPhone pickpocketed on our way home on the Metro). While I'll definitely be returning to Paris in the future, next time I'll think twice before putting my phone in my pocket -- please be safe with your belongings if you're planning a trip!
