Expect to see lots of fur collars and bold jewel replications

Apparently, I'm not the only one excited about the new adaptation of Anna Karenina hitting theaters this November. Banana Republic will be releasing a "Anna Karenina" inspired collection this October, just in time for the release of the Keira Knightley/Jude Law film opening the next month (the collection is being produced in partnership with the film's production company, Focus Features). The collection's prices range from reasonable to pricey (the most expensive item is a $325 jacket, the least is $30 for jewelry). According to WWD, the collection will aim to interpret the looks portrayed in the film and the style of Russian imperialism for a modern audience. Like the Mad Men collaboration, the line will be incorporated into the store's ad campaigns and images from the film itself will appear in the stores. Befitting clothing to be worn in chilly Russia, expect to see a lot of faux fur, and for the wealthy, luxurious, high society feel, look out for replications of the over-the-top jewels worn by Knightley in the film. There's nothing I love more in fashion than vintage fashion (why do you think I love period pieces so much?!), so I obviously can't wait to see this unique style brought to life for the modern wearer.
