Edwardian Street Style

There's very little I love more than period fashion. Whether it's the billowing skirts of the Antebellum South, the drop-waist, glamorous shift dresses of the 1920's, bright, put-together dresses of the 1960's or the basic empire-waist dresses of the early 1800's England, I'm completely fascinated by the fashions of another time. Unfortunately, our knowledge of period fashions don't have the same advantages that fashions today do - I.E. the constant documentation of every trend, garment and clothing craze to sweep the world through countless magazines, blogs, and everyone's favorite photo trend - street style. However, contrary to what you might think, Bill Cunningham, the Satorialist and their modern day counterparts weren't the first one to embrace everyday style. The Daily Mail recently published photos of what looks to be Edwardian street style! Edwardian England is one of my favorite periods of history (hello, Downton Abbey?), so I obviously fell in love with these shots. Check them out below:
